Seoul – LG will go to next week’s Mobile World Congress not only with its quad-core LTE Optimus G Pro with 5.5-inch full-HD display, but the company will also unveil two lower priced LTE phones to expand its LTE selection.
The two models are the Optimus F5 and F7, both of which are Android Jelly Bean 4.1.2 phones. The F5’s worldwide rollout will begin in the second quarter in Europe, followed “soon” by the Optimus F7 in select markets, the company said.
“With adoption of LTE expected to explode in 2013, we are sending a clear message to consumers with the Optimus F Series that LTE isn’t just for heavy content users and techies anymore,” said Dr. Jong-seok Park, president/CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications. “It’s for everyone.”
The Optimus F5 features 4.3-inch IPS display with 256ppi, 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 2,150mAh battery, 8GB storage, 1GB RAM, 32GB microSD slot, 5-megapixel front camera with autofocus, and 1.3-megapixel rear camera.
The Optimus F7 features 4.7-inch True-HD IPS display with 312ppi, 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 2,540mAh battery, 8GB storage, 2GB RAM , 32GB microSD slot, and same cameras as the F5.
Both models also feature upgraded QSlide and Live Zooming features previously available only on LG’s premium phones, the company said. QSlide lets users open two apps simultaneously in full-screen mode and change the size, position and transparency of QSlide apps. Functions now compatible with QSlide include video, browser, memo, calendar and calculator, the company said. Live Zooming, previously available only in the Optimus G available since 2012, lets users zoom into a specific area while watching a video.
Additional features offered by both phones include QuickMemo, which lets users use their fingertip to handwrite notes that can be shared.
This TWICE webinar, hosted by senior editor Alan Wolf, will take a look at what may be the hottest CE products at retail that will be sold during the all-important fourth quarter. Top technologies, market strategies and industry trends will be discussed with industry analysts and executives.
