Lenovo Adds To IFA Offerings

Berlin – Lenovo today bolstered its Ultrabook, mainstream laptops and all-in-one PC lines at IFA, here.

The U510 Ultrabook, shipping in September with a $679 starting price, features a 15-inch display, is 21mm thick and weighs just less than 5 pounds. It has a 1TB HDD with an optional 32GB of SSD cache to improve performance. It can take up to a third-generation Intel Core i7 processor and has an optical drive bay for either a DVD or Blu-ray drive.

In Lenovo’s Y, or performance, laptop series is the IdeaPad 14-inch Y400 and 15-inch Y500.

Both are shipping in September with a starting price of $649. Each will be available in a variety of configurations.

New for the series is what Lenovo is caling the UltraBay. This is a bay that can be used for adding an additional graphics card, storage or fan for better cooling. Each comes with up to a third-generation Core i7 processor, Nvidia GeForce GT655M graphics card with 2MB of memory, 16GB of DDR3 memory and 1TB of storage.

Lenovo’s affordable thin and light category will now include the 14-inch IdeaPad Z400 and 15-inch Z500.

The Z500 will ship in September with a $549 starting price, with the Z400 following in November with a $549 price tag

These differ in having a standard-voltage Core i7 processor, compared with the low-voltage versions used in the previously mentioned models.

Lenovo’s new AIO PC offerings include three new units in two different series.

The IdeaCentre A520, shipping in October at $999, is the company’s fashion statement model. It features a 23-inch display with 10-point multitouch capability. The display itself can be adjusted to lay almost flat. It is equipped with up to a third-generation Intel Core i7 processor, Intel HD graphics 4000, up to 8GB DDR3 memory and 1TB of HDD storage.

The IdeaCentre B340 and B345 each have a 21.5-inch, 10-point touch display. Features include either AMD or Intel processors, Nvidia or AMD graphics options, and an optional TV tuner.

These will ship in October with a $599 starting price.
