Klipsch Updates Flagship Headphones

Indianapolis — Klipsch unveiled additions to its flagship X series of headphones.

The three models — X11i, X7i and X4i — are stepped in a good, better, best placement, all featuring balanced armature drivers. All three also have the company’s signature oval ear tips that are designed for longer comfort and greater noise isolation.

At the top of the line is the X11i, made from milled aluminum and carrying a $349 suggested retail. Klipsch said they are the company’s smallest and lightest headphones. Frequency response is listed at 5Hz to 19kHz with impedance of 50 ohms. Other features include a tangle-resistant cable with a iOS-compatible in-line mic and controls, and five sets of ear tips.

The entry model in the line, the X4i, has a $149 suggested retail and is constructed from die-cast metal with a black finish and copper accents. Frequency response is listed at 15Hz to 16kHz with impedance of 50 ohms. It also has a tangle-resistant cable and in-line mic and controls, but it only comes with four sets of ear tips.

At $199 and in the middle of the line, the X7i was first introduced last year. Klipsch said it has updated the product’s packaging.

A spokeswoman for the company told TWICE that the X11i replaces the X10i headphones. She also said the company has dropped the “Image” moniker for its in-ear headphones to provide distinction between the S-series products and the X series.
