Kaleidescape Shows Cinema One, Store Upgrade At CEDIA

Denver — Kaleidescape is showing its newest product, the Cinema One, and enhancements to its store at booth 3718 during CEDIA Expo, here, this week.

The Kaleidescape Store enables consumers to download movies with video and audio quality equal to Blu-ray Disc and DVD. With this latest release, the Kaleidescape Store offers for $1.99  disc-free digital copies of the Blu-ray discs they already own, or lets them upgrade their DVDs to Blu-ray-quality downloads for $6.99. They can do it online and at a fraction of the cost of buying new, the company said.

These digital copies include UltraViolet rights for viewing on TVs, PCs or mobile devices.

Movies in the Kaleidescape Store can be downloaded to Cinema One and the Premiere line to serve multiple rooms or homes. Digital copies can be downloaded to up to five systems, Kaleidescape said.

At CEDIA Expo, Kaleidescape will give attendees a hands-on experience of the new Cinema One, introduced in July. The Cinema One movie server plays Blu-ray and DVD movies instantly — without previews, menus or ads. It stores up to 600 DVD-quality or 100 Blu-ray-quality movies and can start a Blu-ray disc in seconds — faster than any Blu-ray player in the market.

The Cinema One is priced at $3,995 and is designed to fit in any home A/V setup.
