JVC, K2 Cross-Promote Adixxion Cam

Wayne, N.J. — JVC said it will partner with K2 Sports to place JVC Adixxion action video cameras with K2 pro skiers and snowboarders.

K2, a supplier of ski and snowboarding gear, has a roster of professional skiers and snowboarders using its equipment.

JVC Americas said video of K2’s pros in action “is a major component of the company’s online and social-media activity.”

JVC will equip K2 athletes with the company’s GC-X2 Adixxion action camera to create footage that will be used to produce an ongoing series of co-branded videos that both brands will use on their websites and social media outlets.

“We see this as a partnership between two very similar and complementary brands,” stated Karl Bearnarth, JVC Americas marketing senior VP, consumer A/V group. “K2 has the best winter sports athletes using the best equipment, while JVC offers the best camera for capturing the action. For JVC, this is a fantastic opportunity for us to show K2 fans just how good our Adixxion camera is while sharing with them some compelling footage.”

The JVC GC-XA2 Adixxion was designed as a wearable video camera that can capture point-of-view action sports. It is waterproof to a depth of 16.4 feet, shock-proof from a drop of 6.5 feet, dust-proof and freeze-resistant, without the need for a special housing.

The camera has a built-in LCD monitor, and Wi-Fi to stream images and video to a smartphone or computer.
