Jensen Ships 6 In-Dash Multimedia Receivers For Cars

Hauppauge, N.Y. –Jensen has begun shipping its line of six single- and double-DIN in-dash multimedia receivers, including a navigation-equipped model and two nav-ready models.

 Prices range from a suggested $219 to $549, and all sport 6.2-inch touchscreens and Made For iPod/iPhone USB port that works with the iPhone 5 for audio playback. Three add a port to connect a Sirius XM 2.0 satellite-radio tuner, Pandora Link to control the Pandora app on a USB-connected iPhone, and Bluetooth. Bluetooth is available on the three models for hands-free calling, wireless music streaming from smartphones, and AVRCP control of smartphone music libraries and select music apps.

 Audiovox Electronics president Tom Malone touted the Jensen brand as “delivering the greatest feature/value proposition available to consumers today.”

 The flagship $549 VM9726BT double-DIN flagship feature 6.2-inch touchscreen, connects to an optional SXV200 SiriusXM Connect Vehicle Tuner, controls the Pandora app on a USB-connected iPhone, and incorporates Parrot Bluetooth. Other features include built-in GPS with iGo primo navigation software, RGB front panel LED lighting for thousands of colors, five selectable wallpaper backgrounds, the ability to upload 12 user wallpapers, rear-view camera input with “instant-on” technology, multizone capability, SD card slot, USB 2.0 port, and 3.5mm A/V input to stream video from an iPod or iPhone, except for the iPhone 5, via an optional cable. It also features front and rear 4-volt preamp outputs and subwoofer output. It also connects to steering-wheel-control interfaces.

 The $299-suggested VM9226BT double-DIN multimedia receiver is a navigation-ready head unit that connects to an optional Jensen NAV104 GPS Navigation Module with iGO Primo. The receiver also and features a 6.2-inch touchscreen, Made for iPod/iPhone USB, Pandora Link, SiriusXM port, non-Parrot Bluetooth for hands free calls and music streaming, and Bluetooth A2DP. Other key features include five selectable wallpaper backgrounds, RGB front-panel LED lighting, rear-view camera input with “instant-on” technology, SD card slot, USB 2.0, and 3.5mm A/V inputs for viewing video from a connected iPod or iPhone, excluding the iPhone 5. It also features 4-volt front / rear preamp outputs, subwoofer output, and steering-wheel interface.

 A single-DIN version of the head unit is the nav-ready VM9216BT, which features motorized fold-out 6.2-inch touchscreen at a suggested $299.

 At a suggested $219, the VM9126 double-DIN multimedia head unit also features 6.2-inch touchscreen, Made for iPod/ iPhone USB, rear-view camera input with instant-on technology, five selectable wallpaper backgrounds. It also features 2-volt front/rear preamp outputs, subwoofer output and connection to a steering-wheel control interface. Also at $219, the head unit comes in a single-DIN version called the VM9116.

 The $219 VM9026 double-DIN head unit features 6.2-inch touchscreen, Made for iPod/iPhone USB, rear-view camera input with “instant-on” technology, 2-volt front and rear preamp outputs, subwoofer output and steering-wheel interface.

 The Jensen brand is marketed by Audiovox Electronics, a wholly owned subsidiary of Voxx International.
