Huawei Unveils Its 2nd Windows Phone 8

Shenzen, China. – Huawei unveiled its second Windows Phone 8 smartphone but hasn’t announced U.S. availability yet.

The company’s first Windows Phone 8 smartphones, the W1, became available in the U.S. in May through Walmart.com and at select Walmart stores. It was unveiled at International CES 2013.

“We’ll announce more details regarding availability of the W2 in the U.S. when we’re able to do so,” a spokesperson said.

The new phone is available in multiple colors and features Windows Phone 8 OS, Qualcomm Snapdragon dual-core 1.4GHz processor, 4.3-inch IPS WVGA LCD screen, and TFT Magic Touch technology to enable touchscreen operation with gloved hands. It also features 720p video recording and playback, 7GB of free SkyDrive cloud storage, and access to more than 175,000 apps in the Windows Phone Store.

The W2 is shipping in China, and more countries will get the product in November.

The W1 features 4-inch 480 by 800 IPS LCD display, Qualcomm Snapdragon dual-core 1.2GHz processor and Adreno 305 GPU.
