Batavia, N.Y. – Custom video display systems manufacturer Display Development, based here, will travel to CEDIA Expo in Indianapolis, Sept. 6-8, to introduce two in-wall high-definition projection systems to its growing product assortment.
The In-Wall System 3 (IW3), which carries a $56,000 suggested retail, and IW4, which carries a $46,000 suggested retail, are designed to produce a “screening room-like” experience in darkened viewing environments and a high quality television viewing experience in rooms with some ambient light, the company said.
“The IW3 and IW4 are unique in application and provide the custom installation industry with solutions for incorporating big bright images into spaces where putting a projector on the ceiling is not practical,” stated long-time home-video industry veteran Jim Burns, Display Development president. “We designed this series of projectors with custom installers in mind. From ease of installation, to integration flexibility, to unmatched performance, the IW3 and IW4 provide the perfect projector solution for living spaces of any kind.”
Both in-wall projectors use dual UHP lamp, three-chip DLP light engines and can produce 3D images for viewing with active-shutter-type 3D glasses. The IW3 is capable of light output of 8,000 lumens while the IW4 emits 6,000 lumens of brightness.
Display Development combines the projectors with screen materials that work in rooms with ambient light to create a very-large screen TV viewing experience that surpasses flat panel technologies, the company said.
The technology also enables integrators to provide a completely concealed system when not in use.
Key temperature points inside each chassis are monitored by Display Development’s proprietary ventilation system to ensure proper operation.
The projectors’ include a surface-plated mirror system, offset adjustments and geometric distortion correction to offer a high degree of installation flexibility, the company said.
Display Development will distribute products through a manufacturer’s rep network only to CEDIA-level dealers.
During CEDIA, Display Development will demonstrate the systems at booth 927 on the show floor and in Sound Room 110 near Hall D of the Indianapolis Convention Center.
