Harrisburg, Pa. – D&H Distributing is adding support for its rapidly growing tablet and mobility business in the form of a new PC/tablet retail planning specialist.

Ben Wilhelm has been named to handling the newly created position. He will manage and forecast inventory of both PC and mobile computing products ordered through the retail channel by a mix of independent consumer electronics dealers, ecommerce retailers and big-box retailers, D&H said.

The addition of a planning specialist will help the distributor better manage and satisfy demand “in these still-burgeoning categories,” D&H said in a statement.

The distributor described this as “an enhancement of resources is along the same line as the recent addition of the ‘D&H Concierge’ service.”

Jeff Davis, sales senior VP at D&H, said, “Tablets and mobility are still exploding. We’ve been driving market share for an array of manufacturers showing both Android- and Windows-based units at various price points and screen sizes since 2010, and the category has done nothing but accelerate.”

He added, “The Bring Your Own Device trend has been fueled by retail sales of personal devices, which has generated a new ecosystem of mobile products varying from wireless security solutions to mobile device management software.  We’re thrilled to provide this new level of support, and welcome our newest D&H specialist.”
