CEA Readies CarTech Demo Days

Arlington, Va. — The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) scheduled Nov. 9-11 for this year’s CarTech Demo Days, a nationwide campaign that encourages consumers to visit retailers to learn about the latest aftermarket technologies for the car.

Demo Days will follow a Nov. 7 video feed that local TV stations can pick up for their news broadcasts. The feed will feature products and supplier interviews. It will also direct consumers to a Car Tech Demo Days website listing retailers that will hold product demonstration events, where experts will be on hand to answer questions and match products to fit any need and budget, CEA said.

Demo Days will focus on products that deliver better safety, security, sound and connectivity in the car, CEA continued. And it will encourage consumers to use Mobile Electronics Certified Professional (MECP) installers to install products.

“Consumers will learn how easy it is to integrate products that deliver enhanced audio sound, hands-free calling, smartphone connectivity and much more,” CEA said.

This is the first year that Demo Days are being held for car technology. Demo Days for products such as home audio have been held in the past.
