Arlington, Va. — The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) and Google launched “Insights from the 2012 Debates,” a joint effort to provide voters with insightful and compelling information about the presidential and vice presidential debates, on Wednesday.
The CEA-Google collaboration aims to enhance the debate experience using Google’s technologies to provide snapshots of how citizens are using technology to engage with and learn about the presidential and vice presidential candidates as well as top issues during the debates, CEA said.
The effort includes a state-of-the-art digital wall that displays search and video trends, insights and consumer research. The digital wall — located near the debate hall in the media gathering area — featured the top search trends around the debates and user-generated content from Google+. Reporters had access to the touchscreen display for broadcast coverage.

The “Insights from the 2012 Debates” builds upon Google’s efforts to connect voters around the country with the latest election-related news and activities. Google.com/elections is a hub for election-related campaign news, insights and trends, and important information for voters and campaigns, enabling users to use multiple tools to find and share information and views.
