Casio Shows Exilim Digicam Pair

Cologne, Germany – Casio introduced at Photokina this week a pair of point-and-shoot cameras from its Exilim line.

The EX-H50 and EX-ZR1000 were not listed as yet with U.S. availability and pricing, but both cameras offer a slate of advanced features and long zoom ranges.

The H50 offers 16.1-megapixel resolution and incorporates a 1/2.3-inch square pixel CCD. The camera features a 24x long-zoom f/3.7-8.0 lens starting at a 24mm wide angle and has a 3-inch LCD monitor.

A top mode dial controls basic auto-settings modes. Other features include a CCD-shift adjusting image-stabilization system, a series of auto-settings modes and eight photo effects.

The camera can also record 720p resolution video.

The ZR1000 features a 24mm wide-angle lens, 2.5x optical zoom lens with macro mode, tilting LCD, Casio’s Exilim HS Engine offering reduced shutter lag time, a start-up time of less than one second, and reduced image blurring from camera shake.

Light sensitivity is enhanced with an ISO range to 25,600 and a high-speed night shot mode that eliminates camera shake in dark settings.

It will shoot up to 30 still bursts at up to a 6 fps rate. The camera also supports High Dynamic Range multi-image layering and a variety of auto picture settings and art filters.

Other features include a front lens ring that rotates to change settings while a rear “ring” button can be pressed to switch operations between focus, aperture and white balance.
