New Orleans – Azione Unlimited (AU), the education/buying group for custom retailers and integrators, held a series of team-building exercises during its three-day conference at the Westin New Orleans Canal Place this week.
“We wanted to build and strengthen the bonds between … members,” said Azione president Richard Glikes.
To that end, the group engaged in “speed meetings” – akin to speed dating – where dealers and vendors met for one minute before moving on to another abbreviated encounter. Glikes said the exercise resulted in 15 new friendships born in 15 minutes.
Later that evening attendees took over the Rock ‘n’ Bowl, a combination restaurant, bowling alley and dance floor, here. A live Zydeco band performed while eighteen teams bowled 18 lanes and enjoyed the food and drink.
Azione also sent 15 teams on a “foot rally” through the French Quarter to search for items and venues.
“I think it worked,” Glikes quipped.
