Adorama Holding 4K Camera Event

New York — Manhattan imaging and A/V specialty dealer Adorama will host a free 4K camera event on Oct. 10 featuring photographer/filmmaker John Huba and Canon’s EOS-1D C Cinema camera.

Huba, who has shot ad campaigns for Ralph Lauren and J.Crew, and whose celebrity portraits have appeared in Rolling Stone and Vanity Fair, will use the EOS-1D C to demonstrate hybrid photo and video shooting and workflow.

Using the Canon model — touted as the only DSLR of its kind that can shoot in 4K — Huba will film a live fashion shoot, import the footage into Adobe Premiere Pro, and extract still frames in 4K, displaying the hybrid workflow from start to finish.

Hybrid shooting allows photographers to streamline their creative workflow to achieve high-quality video and stills from one camera, Adorama said.

Doors open at 4:30 p.m. and three demonstrations will be held on the hour starting at 5 p.m. Registration is recommended.

Privately-held Adorama ranked 43rd on TWICE’s Top 100 CE Retailers list with an estimated $207 million in sales last year.
