Delray Beach, Fla. — KidzSafe, a brand distributed by rapper 50 Cent’s SMS Audio company, debuted a new line of headphones designed to protect children from damaging sound.
The MyDesign Do It Yourself (DIY) line features over-ear and ear bud models, both of which have decibel-limiting technology. The sound will not reach more than 85dB, according to the company, said to be a safe level of noise for children.
Both models are offered in pink or blue and will come with decorative stickers for customization. The over-ear model ($29.95) has 40mm drivers and ships with two different tangle-free cords and two removable ear pads. Frequency response is listed at 20Hz to 22kHz with impedance of 32 ohms.
The ear buds ($19.95) have 10mm drivers, silicone tips, and in-line mic and controls. Frequency response is also 20Hz to 22kHz, with impedance of 16 ohms.
They are currently available.
