Las Vegas – Samsung Electronics (booth 12004) is unveiling at International CES next week the latest installments to its NX family of mirrorless compact system cameras (CSCs) and connected Galaxy cameras.
The NX30, which ships in the first quarter at a $999 suggested retail and includes an 18-55mm kit lens, features a pro-quality 20.3-megapixel APS-C sensor, an advanced hybrid autofocus system, a wide ISO range (100 to 25,600), and 9 fps continuous shooting.
The Samsung NX 3 camera also includes a compact DSLR-like body design, with an articulating and rotating 3-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen monitor, a 2,359K-dot electronic viewfinder, and built-in Wi-Fi connectivity with nearfield communications (NFC) support. Video is captured in up to FullHD 1080/60p with stereo sound.
Meanwhile, the new Galaxy Camera 2, which will launch at a time and price to be announced later, offers an upgraded 1.6GHz quad-core processor and Android 4.3 platform that make it faster and easier to use, shoot, edit and share high-quality images.
Key enhancements to the Galaxy Camera 2 include improved battery life (2000 mAh), a 16-megapixel BSI CMOS sensor, 21x optical zoom, pinch-zoom function and 2GB of RAM.
The camera continues to include advanced Wi-Fi and NFC capabilities and adds a new Tag & Go feature that makes simplifies connecting the Galaxy Camera 2 to NFC-enabled smartphones and devices. A simple tap of the smartphone and camera now enables the devices to transfer images swiftly. In addition, a Photo Beam function allows a picture being viewed on the camera to be automatically sent to the paired smartphone, and Mobile Link allows photographers to select images they wish to transfer to their smartphones at their leisure.
The Galaxy Camera 2 also includes a 4.8-inch HD Super Clear Touch LCD.
