Las Vegas – The IEEE’s International Conference on Consumer Electronics (ICCE) will begin on Friday, January 11, the last day of International CES, here.
The ICCE is focusing on human device interaction with consumer electronics devices and will begin on January 11 in the upper North Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center and conclude on Monday, January 14.
The ICCE, marking its 31st year, has a long history with many of the industry’s leading researchers participating and sharing advances in consumer technologies and designs.
Sessions and tutorials supporting this major theme of human device interaction highlight researcher and industry advances in user interface, sensors (touch, voice and gesture sensing cameras) along with the electronics and services which extend their progress.
ICCE 2013 will incorporate five parallel conference and tutorial tracks of Special, Invited and Associated Sessions allowing coverage of even more topics of current interest to the CE professional with more than 300 papers presented. Topics and themes include wireless health monitoring - the “Tricorder” session; an area of growing technical and societal interest.
Conference keynoters include Gentry Underwood (Orchestra, IDEO), Mary Czerwinski (Microsoft), Satwant Kayur (HP Labs), Detlef Teichner (CTO Loewe), Simon Crosby (Bromium), Joe Decuir from CSR and Ron Williams (Landmark). The I.E.E.E. Consumer Electronics Society’s highest honor - the Masaru Ibuka Award - will be presented on Sunday, January 13.
Tutorial topics include Social Media, 3D, Usability, Smart Glass, LTE New Wireless, and Haptics - the science of electronically reproduced tactile effects which simulate the physical action of button selection.
On Thursday January 10, a special CES Panel on ICCE Technologies will be held in the upper North Hall. Coordinated and moderated by Stuart Lipoff. The panel of engineers will review how well we forecast the products and technologies on the show floor of CES 2013 and outline the key ICCE sessions which will define CES 2014 and beyond.
The full program schedule is available for review at http://edas.info/p12163.
This TWICE webinar, hosted by senior editor Alan Wolf, will take a look at what may be the hottest CE products at retail that will be sold during the all-important fourth quarter. Top technologies, market strategies and industry trends will be discussed with industry analysts and executives.
