Las Vegas – Harman is expanding the number of entertainment services available through its Aha cloud-based infotainment service for OEM and aftermarket radios.
The AccuRadio, Deezer, Rdio and SomaFM music services have begun offering music content to drivers through Aha, joining AOL SHOUTcast Radio, Radio.com by CBS Radio, Live365, MOG, Rhapsody and Slacker, Harman announced here at CES.
Aha services are streamed via a free app for iPhone or Android. When the phone is connected to a compatible in-vehicle entertainment system, a users' favorite Aha stations become radio preset buttons. When users exit the car, the content continues to play on their smartphone.
By the end of 2013, Aha will be installed in vehicles offered by more than 10 auto manufacturers in the USA/Canada and Europe, Harman said.
Through the newpodcast partnerships, drivers can tune into diet and exercise advice from the editors of Shape magazine, get the latest celebrity gossip from Star, and play back dozens of classic storybooks from Robin Hood to Cinderella.
AccuRadio provides free, personalizable Internet radio that offers more than 500 free stations of rock, pop, classical, country, jazz, oldies, Broadway and the like.
Deezer provides access to more than 20 million songs on any device, on and offline. Rdio offers on-demand access to more than 18 million songs. And SomaFM is a listener-supported, commercial-free Internet radio station offering more than 20 channels focused on niche genres.
