ITASCA, ILL.— Fellowes is teaming with Cirque Corp. to introduce the PDA Pocket Keyboard, said to be the lightest and most compact keyboard available for mobile computing.
The unit enables users to input large amounts of text and data into their personal digital assistants and is compatible with versions 1.0 through 3.5.2 of the Palm operating systems. It supports the Palm m100, m500 and Palm III, V and VII series PDAs, as well as the Handspring Visor, Deluxe, Platinum and Prism.
The pocket- or purse-sized keyboard weighs 1.9 ounces and comes sealed in a protective case to shield against dirt, dust, moisture and static electricity. It also comes with Cirque's Pocket Keys software that users install into their PDAs to activate the device. The keyboard includes a retractable support stand so it can be used to type on flat surfaces or held in the user's hand.
Suggested retail is $39.99 and the keyboard will be available in June in a package designed to be displayed on a J-hook.
Cirque, a developer of computer touch pads and input technology and maker of the keyboard, is partnering with Fellowes, which will market and distribute the product under the name Fellowes PDA Pocket Keyboard.
