Car Toy Sole Retailer For Rio Car

Staff -- TWICE, 5/28/2001

VANCOUVER, WASH . — Rio Car said it named Seattle, Wash.-based Car Toys as the exclusive retail outlet for the new Rio Car MP3 players, although Rio may add more retail outlets in the future, according to a spokeswoman.

Earlier this month, the Car Toys chain began selling two Rio Car units, both with built-in hard drives in 10GB and 20GB configurations. These hold approximately 200 hours and 340 hours of music, respectively.

The Rio Car players, announced earlier this year, are removable DIN-sized audio players that can plug into a user's computer for downloading MP3 music files for playback in the car. Suggested retail prices range from $1,199 to $1,349.

The players are also available at www.riohome.com.

Rio Car is a division of SONICBlueText.
