GetPlugged Adds Exclusive Infinity Online Showroom

By Alan Wolf -- TWICE, 5/21/2001

WESTLAKE VILLAGE, CALIF. — GetPlugged.com, the consumer electronics e-commerce and marketing portal, has added an Infinity Virtual Showroom to it site that showcases the manufacturer's full line of home loudspeakers.

The showroom, which was designed and built by GetPlugged, effectively functions as an Infinity site-within-a-site. Visitors can view the manufacturer's speakers by matched lines or search for specific products, and Infinity-approved brand messaging and content relays the technology and design story behind the products to keep the branding consistent with other Infinity efforts.

After learning about Infinity loudspeaker designs, audio engineering and room acoustics, visitors may also request literature, schedule an in-store audition or be connected with a local authorized dealer through the site.

Other Infinity products showcased within the virtual showroom include powered subwoofers, complete home theater systems and in-wall loudspeakers. Links on the site will provide access to Infinity's mobile audio lines.

"We see Infinity Systems as a leader in our industry," said GetPlugged founder Sunil Mehrotra. "We look forward to working closely with the Infinity team over the months to come…to set new benchmarks in collaborative marketing."

Indeed, GetPlugged.com's proprietary web site software, created by parent company KnowledgeLINKS, boasts lead-management capabilities that will enable Infinity to route qualified customer leads to its dealers. In addition, visitors' on-site activities are captured and reported to customers for purposes of market research and one-on-one marketing.

Since its launch in 1999, GetPlugged has hosted more than 14.5 million unique visitors. Based on their selections, consumers can then be referred to local member dealers who can complete the sale online or in-store.
