Minds@Work Boosts Digital Wallet

Staff -- TWICE, 5/21/2001

IRVINE, CALIF. — Minds@Work has expanded its Digital Wallet line of digital storage equipment, adding three new units with varying memory capacities.

The Digital Wallet is now available in three, 10 and 20 gigabyte configurations (retails of $349, $449 and $549 respectively). The previous model of the wallet offered 6GB of storage.

The Digital Wallet is a palm-sized storage device that operates independently of a PC, though it features USB connectivity.

"With our Digital Wallet product, we created an entirely new 'portable smart storage' category," said president and CEO Marc Ganouna. "Now consumers have a mass storage device that is truly portable — a self-powered device that works independently of a computer."

Depending on individual storage applications and needs, the 20GB Digital Wallet stores more than 20,000 high-resolution photos or 366-plus hours of digital audio.

Minds@Work equips the hand-held portable storage devices with a Motorola ColdFire microprocessor, a 2.5-inch Toshiba hard drive and a rechargeable battery system. The Digital Wallet family is compatible with Windows 98/2000/ME, Mac and Linux OS and supports a variety of flash memory cards.
