NPD, TWICE Present 'Success' SKU Report

By Staff -- TWICE, 8/18/2008

NEW YORK — Top brands and growing categories mark this year's annual "Success Stories" report on the products that have sold the most units at retail.

The NPD Group of Port Washington, N.Y., has again teamed with TWICE on this annual report, which presents the top 10 SKUs in selected categories from June 2007 to May 2008.

Among the seven categories charted in the report are: digital cameras (see p. 46), home theater in a box (p. 36), portable navigation devices (p. 39), notebook computers (p. 48), in-dash navigation A/V systems (p. 64), LCD TVs (p. 34) and noise-cancelling headphones (p. 72).

TWICE editors report the findings and why certain SKUs were more popular than the rest in their respective categories.

Among the notable top-ranked products in the report are: Apple's MacBook, Pioneer's AVIC-D3 in-dash navigation A/V system and Samsung's 40-inch LN-T4061F LCD TV.
