Logitech Web Cam Has Carl Zeiss Optics

FREMONT, CALIF. — Logitech introduced the company's first Mac-compatible Web cam with premium autofocus technology and Carl Zeiss optics last month.
The QuickCam Vision Pro uses a voice coil motor for its autofocus system, instead of a stepper motor, said the company, so focusing is "fast and fluid." The system is designed to compensate for changes in image-edge sharpness and refocus images in less than 3 seconds.
The 2-megapixel sensor helps the Web cam capture video images in high resolution. It is assisted by the company's RightLight 2 Technology, said to help the camera adjust intelligently in dim or harshly back-lighted situations.
When used with iChat or Skype, the plug-and-play camera features VGA-quality video at up to 30 fps, and it records video clips in 720p high-definition video format (960 by 720 pixels).
Scheduled to be available this month, Logitech's QuickCam Vision Pro has a $129 suggested retail.
