Eastman Exits CE For Top Spot At Target.com

By Alan Wolf -- TWICE, 7/7/2008

MINNEAPOLIS — Target's electronics chief Steve Eastman has been promoted to president of Target.com and has been succeeded in CE by Nik Nayar.

Eastman headed the discounter's CE business for the past eight years, most recently as divisional electronics VP. He joined the company in 1982, was named senior audio buyer in 1994 and became divisional merchandise manager for electronics in 2000.

During his tenure as CE head, Eastman worked toward tapping into the female and family customer, as underscored by the introduction of Sony Liv, an exclusive program of tabletop electronics aimed at women.

In his new role, which became effective earlier this month, Eastman is responsible for Target's online operations, as well as the chain's direct marketing, mobile marketing, in-store digital marketing and guest-relationship functions.

Nayar takes over CE duties as divisional merchandise manager.
