Pantel Expands Outdoor LCD TV Line

By Greg Tarr -- TWICE, 6/2/2008 10:29:00 AM

Garden Grove, Calif. — Pantel, a manufacturer of televisions designed for outdoor applications, said Monday it has added three new screen sizes to its line of outdoor weatherproof LCD HDTVs.

Joining the company’s current 32- and 42-inch models will be 20-, 52- and 65-inch models. All are said to be available now as special orders (30 days from order to receipt).

The 65-inch PAN 600 ($25,999 suggested retail) is one of three new screen sizes in the outdoor HD LCD TV line introduced by Pantel.

Pantel said it plans to showcase the new models at InfoComm 2008 in Las Vegas, June 18-20.

“Pantel’s 32- and 42-inch outdoor weatherproof TVs have already made their mark in the industry by providing a unique outdoor experience second-to-none,” stated Joe Pantel, CEO of Pantel and Surfside Concepts. “Pantel outdoor weatherproof TVs have changed the way people entertain. With the weather being a threat to what most people can do outside to entertain, Pantel Corp. makes it easy without worry. Now, we offer even more solutions with five different screen sizes to meet the needs of nearly every application.”

Pantel’s new 52-inch (PAN-520) and 65-inch (PAN-650) weatherproof LCD screens feature 2,000:1 contrast ratios and 1,920 by 1080p native resolution. The new 20-inch (PAN-200) model features a 700:1 contrast ratio and 1,366 by 768 native.

Beyond being weatherproof, Pantel TVs come complete with an 802.11a wireless package that allows the user to broadcast audio and video wirelessly up to 150 feet.

All models come with anti-reflective, glare-resistant filters for viewing in brightly lit areas. Models are designed to resist extreme heat and cold.

Other features include the following: one HDMI input, rain/snow shielded, wind/dust shielded, operable from -40 degrees - +140 degrees Fahrenheit and super bright panel. They company said the TVs can be used anywhere inside or outside the home

Suggested retails  for the models are the following: 65-inch PAN-650 ($25,999), 52-inch PAN-520 ($9,999), 42-inch PAN 420 ($4,450), 32-inch PAN 320 ($3,950) and 20-inch PAN 200 ($2,999).
