Free OEM Integration Search Engine To Launch

LOS ANGELES — Perfect Interface is launching what it hails as the first free search engine Web site for OEM integration.
The site will offer universal searches for thousands of interfaces for iPods, navigation and other products. Users can search for parts by supplier and their vehicle fit by vehicle year, make, model and body part. The site is free to users and will be supported by advertising.
Trevor Kaplan, former marketing administrator for Scosche, will head parts research and updating for the site, which launches June 15.
"It allows even the smaller retailer in Podunk, Ohio, to get information by just going on line. They don't have to pay for it," said Rich Rukavina sales manager. "Rather than provide a limited database based on certain companies that pay to participate, Perfect Interface strives to include every available solution on the market in its database at no charge to the supplier."
The site will also feature tech tips, blogs and forums.
At present, several companies sell software that retailers use to help match OE integration products with their auto installations. These include Victory Technologies and Select Net. Victory Technologies announced recently that 43-store Audio Express recently began licensing its software.
