Dell To Offer In-Home Services

By Collen Bohen -- TWICE, 5/5/2008

ROUND ROCK, TEXAS — Dell is planning to provide a suite of in-home services, including TV installation, home theater setup and technology integration, for customers who buy its products through the retail channel.

A spokesperson told TWICE that the company was not ready to provide more details about how customers may access these services yet, but said more information is expected "in the coming weeks."

Separately, Dell is expanding its consumer service offerings with the introduction of a fee-based premium support service program. The program is targeted at consumers "who want to engage with the same dedicated team each time they have an issue with any of their in-warranty Dell-branded products," the company said.

The service is said to provide customers with a dedicated support team in North America for one year. Pricing for the program has not been released.
