Zani Joins Pentax

By Greg Scoblete -- TWICE, 5/1/2008 9:20:00 AM

Golden, Colo. — Pentax will shake up its channel strategy following its merger with Hoya, naming Bill Zani as the new sales and marketing VP, the company said today.

Zani will lead the company’s U.S. sales and marketing efforts. His appointment marks a shift in Pentax’s channel strategy, the company said.

In a statement announcing his appointment, Pentax president Ned Bunnell said the company was “shifting from a regional territorial sales model to creating new, reorganized teams focused on specific channels including photo specialty, online, mass-merchant and national distributors.”

The new sales strategy follows the announcement earlier this year that Pentax had officially merged with Hoya.

Prior to joining Pentax, Zani held sales and marketing positions at SanDisk, Concord Camera and Iomega.
