Sirius To Delay Annual Meeting

By Amy Gilroy -- TWICE, 4/29/2008 2:05:00 PM

Washington — Sirius Satellite Radio has joined XM Satellite Radio in postponing its 2008 annual shareholder meeting until further information “relating to the timing of their pending merger” is known.

XM’s meeting was scheduled for May 23 and Sirius’s meeting was planned for May 20.

Commissioners at the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), which has yet to rule on the merger, are expected to meet on May 14. No agenda has yet been set for the meeting, although published reports say that satellite radio is not likely to be on the agenda, casting further uncertainty on when this long pending merger might see a conclusion.

It is possible, however, that the FCC might decide on the merger at a time other than one of their regularly scheduled monthly meetings.
