By Staff -- TWICE, 4/7/2008

VANCOUVER, WASH. — Wacom's new Cintiq 12WX interactive pen display is designed to combine the advantages of direct pen-on-screen input with a low-profile, lightweight and flexible design. Aimed at professional creators of digital content, the Cintiq 12WX features a 12.1-inch TFT LCD wide-format display for direct pen-on-screen image editing, painting, sketching, navigating and collaborating, with WXGA resolution of 1,280 by 800 pixels, 24-bit color depth and a 170-degree viewing angle.

The patented, cordless and battery-free Grip pen offers advanced tool controls and tilt functionality, and 10 customizable ExpressKeys can be set to initiate keyboard shortcuts, modifier keys and other functions. The Cintiq 12WX comes with an integrated, adjustable stand, and sells for an estimated street price of $99.99.

Wacom is also debuting its Bamboo-branded pen tablet family, including Bamboo and Bamboo Fun. Both are designed to offer increased functionality and ease of use, the company notes, and include features such as four programmable ExpressKeys, a finger-sensitive touch ring and textured work surface on the tablet. Bamboo is offered in black at $69.99, and Bamboo Fun comes in four colors and two sizes, retailing for $99.99 and $199.
