IOGEAR SHOWCASES MOBILE NOTE-TAKER

By Staff -- TWICE, 4/7/2008

IRVINE, CALIF. — Iogear is showcasing its Mobile Digital Scribe, a device that enables note-takers to store handwritten notes and drawings they can later upload onto a PC in digital text. The product's regular-sized pen works on any paper and uses standard ink refills. An ultrasonic transmitter and infrared sensor capture hand movements, while a receiver attached to a notepad stores up to 50 pages of memos and images. When connected to a PC via the included USB cable, the handwriting recognition software translates notes into text and saves sketches as JPEGs.

The Mobile Digital Scribe is compatible with 12 languages, operates with Vista and Microsoft Office 2000 and above and retails for a suggested $129.

Iogear is also highlighting its new 7.1 surround-sound supported, two-port Dual-Link DVI KVMP and MultiMedia Switch. The product reportedly enables games and audio/video enthusiasts to share a Dual-Link DVI display, USB keyboard, mouse and surround-sound system between two computers. It is compatible with all operating platforms and is priced at a suggested $399.
