Daisuke (Doug) Koshima, corporate director/group GM of Sharp Electronics' international business group, joins Sharp Electronics U.S. as chairman/CEO. He replaces Toshihiko Fujimoto, who will return to Japan as GM for Sharp's strategic planning with the international business group ... Kevin M. Murai, former Ingram Micro president/COO, has been named as its co-CEO, as well as a member of its board and its executive committee. Murai will share the role of CEO with current Synnex president and CEO Bob Huang, who is expected to retire in November. Upon the approval of Synnex's board, Murai will then become the sole CEO. The decision follows February's announcement that Synnex will buy New Age Electronics. The deal was finalized last week ... Rich Campbell, former imaging VP for Panasonic, joins Samsung as marketing director of digital cameras and camcorders ... Rick Mathies, executive director of the Mobile Entertainment Retailers Association (MERA) was appointed director of the Mobile Entertainment Source (MES) division of Brand Source, and will be replaced temporarily at MERA by Jim Montoya, an interim executive director ... Steve Hakes, national accounts VP of Rodin, has been named sales senior VP, responsible for identifying and selling to domestic national and strategic accounts, and overseeing international sales and the company's regional marketing mangers for the Phoenix Gold, AudioSource and Carver brands ... Mark Gumz, president/COO of Olympus America, has added the title of CEO. It is the first time Olympus America has tapped an American for the post of CEO in any Olympus unit, the company reported ... Brian Dexheimer, chief sales and marketing officer of Seagate, has joined the board of Plantronics ... Otto Papasadero named interim executive director of the North American Retailer Sealers Association (NARDA) ... Todd Eichenbaum, the lead engineer for more than 35 amplifier and loudspeaker products at Krell Industries, has been promoted to product development VP, a new post ... Bradley Lines, senior VP of finance/corporate treasurer of Syntax-Brillian, has been named interim chief financial officer. The company said he replaces Jack Hodgson, who has resigned "to pursue other opportunities."
