By Greg Tarr -- TWICE, 3/31/2008 11:08:00 AM

San Diego — Hitachi America’s business group introduced a new short-throw 3LCD projector that is specially designed for widescreen-format laptops and imaging applications using a 16:10 aspect ratio.

Model CPX3 3LCD features WXGA (1,280 by 800) resolution, and includes an HDMI input. The unit also includes a wide-angle lens that enables placement close to the screen, and is also said to allow for a large image to be projected in a small space. The CPX3 weighs 3.9 pounds and offers 2,000 lumens of brightness.

Other features include closed captioning and input naming, a My Screen PIN lock, My Text and a transition detector. The CPX3 also includes a built-in 1-watt speaker.
