SamsClub.com Joins Dell In ‘Plant A Tree’ Effort

Round Rock, Texas — SamsClub.com is the first online partner to join Dell in its Plant a Tree For Me program, which allows Dell customers to help offset the carbon impact of the electricity required to power their laptop or desktop.
Now customers who buy Dell laptops or desktops through SamsClub.com can make the same respective $2 or $6 contribution when buying a laptop or desktop that direct Dell customers have. According to the companies, 100 percent of the customer donation will go toward planting trees so that the trees can absorb carbon dioxide from the atmosphere.
Dell launched Plant a Tree For Me in January 2007. In order to run the program, it partners with The Conservation Fund and Carbonfund.org, non-profit organizations that plant trees in managed reforestation projects.
