Samsung Bows Monitors, Printer Recycling Program

NEW YORK — Samsung Electronics America's is shipping its 53 Series line of high-end LCD monitors and has launched a printing and toner recycling program aimed at businesses called PrintCycle.

The 53 Series features four models: The SyncMaster 953BW, 2053BW, 2253LW and 2253BW.

The displays feature 2ms GTG video response time, 8,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio and DVI with HDCP connectivity.

The company's MagicBright3 and MagicColor technology is included for automatic brightness, contrast and color correction. The monitors also feature MagicWizard for automatic adjustment of resolution, image, color and screen font, and MagicKey allows users to select five keys to link directly to applications or Web sites of their choosing.

The widescreen models are said to offer image size functionality to display a 4:3 aspect source in order to accommodate wide content.

The models are available at the following estimated sales prices:

• SyncMaster 953BW ($239);

• SyncMaster 2053BW ($299);

• SyncMaster 2253LW ($319); and

• SyncMaster 2253BW ($349).

They are backed by a three-year limited warranty on labor and parts, including the backlight, as well as toll-free technical support for the life of the display.

The new PrintCycle program is part of Samsung's newly redesigned PrintCentives campaign.

PrintCycle will offer participating businesses a three-year product refresh, along with a toner purchase and recycle program. According to Samsung, “This program extends the environmentally friendly functions of the printers, such as duplexing and toner-saving features that are standard on the professional products offered through this program.”

Jay Shears, marketing director, digital printing systems, Samsung Electronics America, said in a release, “By offering easy ways to help the business professional support environmentally safe options, we are providing a service to our customers and continuing commitment to the environment.”
