Sears Unveils Kenmore-Branded Oasis Washer, Dryer

ORLANDO, FLA. — Sears hit the International Builders' Show, held here, with a new Kenmore Elite Oasis (ST) SteamCare dryer and Oasis (HT) washer in tow. The pair will be available in March.
The SteamCare technology in the dryer was first introduced last year in the company's Steam Dryer.
The Oasis washer features the company's gentlewash technology for cleaning delicates and Catlyst Cleaning Action for cleaning whites. It is also the first to offer the company's TimedOxi option and is also said to be certified by the National Sanitization Foundation to eliminate 99.9 percent of certain bacteria found in fabrics.
The washer features 4.6-cubic-foot capacity and is equipped with an Invizible Agitator that is said to allow more space for bulky items. The Oasis dryer features 7.4-cubic-foot capacity. Both the washer and dryer feature transparent, tinted glass doors.
The dryer is said to feature both TurboDry and Dual Action Drying technology to speed up drying time. Its gentleheat technology measures air temperature and moisture to "calculate exactly how long a cycle should run, resetting the temperature as needed to improve fabric care."
The company noted that the models surpass Energy Star standards and reach Tier II Consortium for Energy Efficiency ratings.
The pair will be available in white at a regular retail of $1,099 each.
