Joby Extends Gorillapod Line With All-In-One Kit

LAS VEGAS — Joby came to PMA with an extension to its line of Gorillapod flexible, use-anywhere tripod products with the Gorillapod Go-Go! kit.
The Go-Go! is an all-in-one mobile entertainment kit designed to allow users to hold, position or attach a variety of portable electronic devices, including cellphones, MP3 players or GPS devices, to practically any surface to allow for hands-free use.
Each Gorillapod Go-Go! Package includes one Joby Gorillapod flexible tripod made up of 29 fully articulating ball-and-socket joints, allowing users to bend and twist them into any shape for best viewing angle; one quick-release clip with a suction cup custom-engineered to provide a vacuum-tight hold to virtually any flat surface; one quick-release clip with a standard 1/4-20 screw for digital cameras; and two super-bond adhesive quick release clips for permanent device placement.
The Gorillapod tripod works like this: Flexible joints bend and rotate 360 degrees to wrap around almost any shaped surface. It uses injection-molded plastic for snug joints that stay firm. The slim-line attachment stays connected to a user's device and snaps into the Gorillapod for nearly instant setup. A lock ring enables extra security for the attached device. Rubberized ring and foot grips provide gripping power on flat surfaces.
Suggested uses for the Go-Go! include:
- securing portable gaming devices or video players so users can position devices in optimal viewing positions;
- positioning Web cams optimally;
- positioning a mobile phone or a PDA on a desk; and
- securing digital cameras or mobile phones with cameras to to allow for self portraits.
The Go-Go! will ship in March at a price to be announced.
