Discgear Extends Disc-Storage Line

By John Laposky -- TWICE, 12/3/2007

AUSTIN, TEXAS — Discgear has expanded its line of high-end media storage solutions designed to catalog, organize, protect and retrieve CDs and DVDs.

New are two 100-disc models. The top-line Selector 100 disc organization and retrieval system stores up to 100 discs and features the company's a patented one-touch, five-second retrieval system. Included disc indexing software allows the creation and printing of a custom index sheet of the user's collection. The one-touch pop-up lid presents the designated disc when chosen.

The self-aligning disc slots feature a patented recording surface protection technology. The disc index slides to hide within the unit, and the system has a lock for safe transport of media libraries. It comes in black or white, has a lifetime warranty and retails for $59.95.

The step-down Studio 100 Retro system has a modular design that allows three units to be stacked. The front cover opens to reveal the hidden disc index. Numbered tabs pivot the removable sleeve to present each disc. A bonus "satellite" unit can transport the removable sleeves when a user is on the go. It comes in black, red and white and retails for $29.95.

Discgear also added the Discus Sport 20, a 20-disc carrying case that is water-resistant and floats. It has a high-impact outer shell and is heat-resistant to protect discs in extreme temperature conditions.

It comes in black, blue and yellow and retails for $29.95.
