New Digital Frames Find The Right Fit

By Staff -- TWICE, 12/3/2007

NEW YORK — Jobo, Sungale and PhotoVu introduced new frames last month.

Jobo added a pair of new 10.4-inch digital frames to its line.

The Photo Display PDJ105 and PDJ100 are capable of displaying up to four pictures on the screen simultaneously, or as single-image slideshows. They feature VGA resolution screens with a 300:1 contrast ratio and a 4:3 aspect ratio, memory card slots for the popular flash-memory formats and USB host/slave functionality. They also offer calendar and alarm clock functions and an on/off timer.

The PDJ105, for a suggested $239, offers 512MB of internal memory, and ships with a USB cable for connecting to peripheral storage devices.

The PDJ100 features 128MB of internal memory and will retail for a suggested $209.

Sungale's new KL24 features a 2.4-inch, 320 by 240 LCD screen with a 400:1 contrast ratio. The model has a rechargeable battery that can provide up to five hours of display life along with internal memory to hold 120 JPEG images, the company said. The frame will retail for a suggested $59.99.

Though towering next to the KL24, PhotoVu's 17-inch frame is currently the smallest in the company's line, which spans to 22 inches.

The 802.11b-enabled 17-inch frame can accept RSS feeds from various photo sites as well as interface with Apple's iPhoto and Google Picasa software. It can be upgraded to work on 802.11g networks as well.

The frame features a 1,280 by 800 LCD display with a 500:1 contrast ratio. It does not offer slots for memory cards but can pull images from USB flash drives. It will retail for a suggested $699.
