By Staff -- TWICE, 12/3/2007

NEW YORK — Canon is the preferred camera brand of early adopters and high-end consumers looking to purchase a new digital camera, according to a recent survey from ChangeWave Research.

In a September survey of 3,856 members of its Alliance, the group found that 55 percent of those looking to purchase a new digital camera would buy a Canon. In a similar survey conducted in June 2007, 40 percent of Alliance members said their next camera would be a Canon.

Canon also owns a 39 percent share of current camera owners (up 3 percent from a similar survey conducted in June) followed by Sony at 15 percent, Kodak with 14, Olympus at 13 percent and Nikon with 12 percent of the market.
