By Staff -- TWICE, 10/22/2007

BEAVERTON, Ore.— VTech is now shipping its first Bluetooth-enabled 5.8GHz digital spread spectrum cordless phone system, the company said earlier this month.

The LS5145 can pair with up to eight Bluetooth devices, allowing users to send and receive cellular calls on the LS5145's handset.

The phone can record personalized ringtones from audio systems and includes 15 preset tones. It also offers a selection of images and graphics for customized wallpaper on the phone's 65,000-pixel color LCD.

The LS5145 features a handset and base speakerphone, digital answering machine and a blue back-lit keypad. It supports caller ID/call waiting for both cellular and landline calls with a 100 number memory and a 100-name/number phonebook.

The phone system is expandable with up to 12 handsets using the LS5105 accessory, which will retail for a suggested $79.95. The handset features the ability to retrieve messages from the digital answering machine.

The VTech LS5145 carries a suggested retail of $149.
