Phoenix Gold Adds HDMI Signal Repeater, 1.3a Cables

By John Laposky -- TWICE, 9/24/2007

DENVER — Phoenix Gold, a division of Rodin has introduced its new HDMI signal repeater and a new line of HDMI 1.3a cables.

The Phoenix Gold HDMI HD.REP-FF repeater is designed to provide up to 1080p high-resolution transmission over long cable runs of up to 118 feet. The repeater restores the digital clock speed of the digital signal before adding up to a 10-foot cable connected to a monitor. Three extended lengths of HDMI 900 Series cable (20 meters, 25 meters and 36 meters) are packaged with the HD-REP-FF.

The 900 series HDMI1.3a cable with the repeater will pass 1080p standards up to 36 meters.

"Longer HD cable runs snaked through walls has been a problem faced by many installers," explained Stewart Millager, Phoenix Gold engineering director. "Phoenix Gold has come up with the answer"

The 25-meter HDMX.900 HDMI cable has a suggested retail of $499, and the HD.REP-FF HDMI signal repeater is $119.
