MusicGiants Adds Services, Content

By Joseph Palenchar -- TWICE, 9/24/2007

DENVER — MusicGiants, which sells two-channel and multichannel music downloads in WMA lossless format, will begin to download music-loaded hard drives to customers by mail to save them some time, the company said during the CEDIA Expo.

Via USB 2.0, the hard drives plug into Windows XP and Vista PCs capable of playing WMA lossless files. The drives also plug into music servers capable of playing protected and unprotected WMA lossless files. Music/hard-drive packages under the new Concierge program are available at $495, $995, $2,495 and $3,995. Compatible music servers are available from Qsonix, Integra, Niveus Media, Crestron, Audio Design Associates (ADA), Inteset and Xperinet.

MusicGiants also expanded its selection of DRM-free music following the debut earlier this year of Paul McCartney's Memory Almost Full album from the Concord Music Group. MusicGiants is expanding its selection of DRM-free Concord Music Group songs and adding DRM-free music from the classical Naxos and independent Razor & Tie labels. Concord's catalog includes Miles Davis, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Louis Armstrong and John Fogerty.
