Phoenix Gold Adds HDMI Signal Repeater, 1.3a Cables

By John Laposky -- TWICE, 9/6/2007 10:52:00 AM

Denver — Phoenix Gold, a division of Rodin, is debuting here at CEDIA Expo its new HDMI signal repeater and a new line of HDMI 1.3a cables.

The Phoenix Gold HDMI HD.REP-FF repeater is designed to provide up to 1080p high-resolution transmission over long cable runs of up to 118 feet. The repeater restores the digital clock speed of the digital signal before adding up to a 10-foot cable connected to a monitor. Three extended lengths of HDMI 900 Series cable (20 meters, 25 meters and 36 meters) are packaged with the HD-REP-FF.

The 900 series HDMI1.3a cable supports 1080p standards and, with the repeater, will pass 1080p standards up to 36 meters.

“Longer HD cable runs snaked through walls has been a problem faced by many installers,” explained Stewart Millager, Phoenix Gold engineering director. “Phoenix Gold has come up with the answer with an updated line of affordable UL CL-3-rated 1080i and 1080p HDMi cables with available repeater to ensure long 1080p signal transfer from source to display.”

“The new Phoenix Gold HDMX.900 series HDMI cables offers a broad range of audio/video cabling solutions, including Simplay rated cables, HDMI1.3a supporting 1080p, new longer lengths in addition to our very popular nine and 15 meter versions, and three new models packaged with the repeater/extender,” added Millager. “Each and every Phoenix Gold 900 series HDMI cables features Dual Ferrite Cores, 24- to 25-gauge silver treated internal conductors, and UL CL-3-rated outer jackets approved for in-wall commercial and residential applications”

Phoenix Gold’s 25-meter HDMX.900 HDMI cable has a suggested retail of $499, and the Phoenix Gold HD.REP-FF HDMI Signal Repeater is $119.
