AudioControl Simplifying Flat-TV Installs

By Staff -- TWICE, 9/3/2007

DENVER — AudioControl plans to show an A/V sending/receiving system that uses CAT-5 cable to send high-definition component video up to 1080p resolution, three audio channels and IR controls up to 1,000 feet to flat-panel displays with built-in speakers. The active system, designed to simplify flat-panel installs, consists of a BVD-30 sender and BVD-30 wall-plate receiver. They use two CAT-5 cables to deliver component video (using six conductors), three analog audio signals (six wires) and four bi-directional control signals (four conductors).

The sender converts the signals into balanced format and amplifies them to deliver a reliable signal up to 1,000 feet, the company said. The receiver also has a signal-sensing, 12-volt trigger to detect when video is present to activate motorized devices, such as mounts.
