Panasonic Brings LCD Projectors To Gamers

By Greg Tarr -- TWICE, 9/5/2007 9:00:00 PM

DENVER — Panasonic will unveil at CEDIA a new line of LCD-based home theater projectors specially enabled for video game play.

The company will underscore that capability at the show by bringing Major League Professional Gamer Tom Taylor (aka Tsquared) to its booth (825) to demonstrate the projectors’ enhanced features and capabilities.

Highlighting the new offerings is Panasonic’s PT-AX200 projector, featuring 0.7-inch LCD panels with 1280 by 720p resolution and a 16:9 aspect ratio.

Picture brightness is rated at 2,000 lumens and contrast is said to be 6,000:1.

A 2x optical zoom lens is included with horizontal and vertical shift support.

In game mode the PT-AX200 provides optimization of frame response, with improved signal processing and detail expansion that reveals details lost in very dark or over saturated regions of the frame.
