Service Groups Add New Programs

By Alan Wolf -- TWICE, 8/20/2007

FAIRFAX, VA. — ServiceBench, a leading provider of Web-based service management solutions based here, has introduced a comprehensive online product designed to help manufacturers establish, market and manage extended-service contract programs for their products.

The company said its Extended Warranty Solution simplifies the development of an extended-service program that can provide manufacturers with an incremental revenue stream and provide OEMs with deeper insights and enhanced control over the customer experience for improved service and more effective brand management, ServiceBench said.

The program is comprised of modules designed to simplify the sales and marketing of extended service agreements. The Solution also contains tools to streamline scheduling and adjudication of under-warranty repair claims that are covered by the service agreements, while analytic capabilities capture product and service data to help optimize the customer experience and identify cross-sell and up-sell opportunities, the company said. Separately, service management firm Service Net Solutions has partnered with new and existing service providers to launch three new PC service programs this summer.

The Jeffersonville, Ind.-based business has partnered with The CyberAngel to offer theft recovery assistance and data protection on notebook computers. If unauthorized access occurs on a stolen or misplaced notebook, the owner is notified and CyberAngel uses encryption, locking data to protect the security of the computer's contents.

Online data backup, provided through a partnership with Carbonite, is available to consumers to back up an unlimited number of their personal computer files. Carbonite encrypts data before it is stored and houses it on a server accessible via the Internet for easy recovery.

A cleaning and maintenance program has also been established through a partnership with Nexicore to extend the life and improve the performance of notebook computers.
