Sanyo Intros Back-Up Camera

CHATSWORTH, CALIF. — Sanyo introduced its first rearview back-up camera.

The unit uses advanced digital signal processing to eliminate the "fish-eye" effect and other distortions typical of back-up cameras, said the company.

The color CCD camera, model CCA-BC200, has a viewing angle of approximately 135 degrees horizontal and 105 degrees vertical. It is currently shipping at a suggested retail of $299.

Chrysler Offers More Sirius

NEW YORK — Sirius Satellite Radio said the Chrysler Group expects to install Sirius in more than 70 percent of its vehicles for the 2008 model year.

Last year Chrysler installed Sirius on 40 percent of its vehicles.

For 2008 models, Sirius will be included as a standard feature in most premium- and midlevel Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep models. It will also be a 100 percent standard feature on Chrysler Sebring and Aspen, the new Dodge Challenger and Nitro and the Jeep Grand Cherokee and Commander.

Chrysler Group includes one year of pre-activated service with each new vehicle.

In addition, four current markets will see increased coverage, the company said.

The 29 new XM NavTraffic markets include: Albany, N.Y.; Albuquerque, N.M.; Allentown, Pa.; Birmingham, Ala.; Colorado Springs, Colo.; and Dayton, Ohio.
