Sony Introduces More Camcorders On Sony Style

By Greg Scoblete -- TWICE, 7/16/2007

SAN DIEGO — Sony has placed two new high-definition camcorders onto its Sony Style e-commerce store.

The models — the SR5C and the SR8 — were not among the high-definition camcorders announced by the company several weeks ago. Instead, they carry similar specs as the previously introduced SR5 and SR7 but with higher capacity hard drives.

Both the SR5C and SR8 feature a 100GB drive and record HD video in the AVCHD format.

It is the second time in recent months that the company has quietly debuted models to its Sony Style store with higher capacity hard disk drives. The first was the introduction of three 100GB standard-definition models in April.

There was no immediate word on whether these new models would be exclusive to Sony Style or whether they would be slated for wider retail distribution.

For more information on the two new models, see www.sonystyle.com.
